"I was hesitant to use the retinol serum initially since I have very sensitive skin and I have tried the pharmaceutical retinoid in the past which horribly irritated my skin. "I love this product. I was initially dealing with perioral dermatitis from some product in my line-up, and so my derm recommended I stop using the retinol product I had been for years while it went away. This old product is the well-known brand that gives you a custom nightly formula; it's great, but maybe it was the culprit. Around the same time, I walked into a Credo store and happened to meet the founder of Exponent, Liz, who was there to talk about her products and the innovation of mixing the powder with the serum with customers. She was so warm and helpful, and she gave me the tip that it might actually be my chemical sunscreen at fault because retinol should actually help. I bought the Exponent retinol there that day, listened to Liz's advice to switch to mineral sunscreen, and once the perioral dermatitis (little whitehead looking bumps and dryness that wasn't painful like acne) resolved around my mouth and chin, I added in the Exponent retinol serum as she recommended. It all worked like a charm, and my skin has never looked better. Now, I also use the Exponent vitamin C in the day, after switching from a very popular rose oil vitamin C.
