Curiosity, discovery and invention are what fuels me and are the drivers behind the “thinking outside of the jar” mindset - which is clearly what you’ve achieved with Exponent!

What is your most marked characteristic?
I’m calm and patient. Family and friends have repeatedly shared how calming it is to be with me. In this often chaotic world, I’m happy to help!

What is your greatest extravagance?
Lounging in bed

What is it that you most dislike?
Negative people who are quick to say “no” and/or don’t ever consider the possibilities. I call them “soul crushers” and I stay far away from them.

What song would you want played as you enter every room for the rest of your life?

Thriller and an irreverent one too.

Describe your medicine cabinet (a verbal shelfie)
My counter is my medicine cabinet and given I cover beauty, I call my bathroom Mini Sephora. There are a lot of products lined up, but there is some order to it. What inspired you to be a journalist?

I thrive on discovery and sharing my discoveries and I love storytelling.

How do you unwind and practice self-care amidst your busy schedule?

I practice Transcendental Meditation and learned from one of the greats, Guru Betty. Being with my two beloved doggies is also very soothing. Grateful for them!

How do you define 'wellness' in the context of a busy lifestyle and career?

For me, wellness is slowing down, practicing box breathing, taking a walk, sitting under the shade of an Oak tree or any tree with a robust canopy, being on a vineyard, and watching Seinfeld before bed (which is chicken soup for my soul).

If you could create your own beauty product, what would it be?

I have many ideas but one that I have yet to experience is a hair product that truly tames the frizzies and puffiness, even when it’s humid. I’ve discovered a few that are pretty good, but nothing that completely nails it.

What’s your favorite beauty tip that you always share whether on your podcast, writing, or on television?

My favorite beauty tip is to always wash your face with warm water, a solid cleanser and a non-abrasive washcloth, and also take a shower before bed. I cannot wrap my head around getting into bed without first taking a shower. Getting into bed feeling clean and moisturized is such a luxury.
