Why does CoQ10 powder preserve potency better than liquid CoQ10 serums?

CoQ10 is lipid-soluble and degrades when exposed to air, light, and water in liquid formulas. Exponent's anhydrous powder keeps CoQ10 stable until activation, preserving the 0.5% concentration intact. In liquid form, CoQ10 is subject to ongoing degradation from air and light exposure, reducing the effective concentration delivered to skin over the product's shelf life.

Is the refill the same CoQ10 formula as the full Firming Filter system?

Yes. The refill contains the identical CoQ10 formula with Tricaprylin carrier, used in both the Power and Pro full systems. No concentration changes or reformulation — only the dispenser hardware differs. Firming and antioxidant results remain consistent refill to refill.

How much money do I save buying the refill instead of the full system?

The Power refill costs $68 versus $128 for the full Power system, saving you $60 per cycle. If you use the Pro refill ($108 vs $218 full system), you save $110. Both refills work with your existing dispenser — no hardware repurchase needed.

Does CoQ10 refill powder require refrigeration?

No. The anhydrous powder is shelf-stable at room temperature. The dry format naturally protects CoQ10 from lipid oxidation and light degradation without cold storage, unlike liquid CoQ10 serums which require refrigeration or dark storage to maintain potency.

How do I know if the CoQ10 powder has lost potency?

Fresh CoQ10 powder appears pale yellow to white. If you notice significant darkening, a rancid or off smell from lipid oxidation, or unusual clumping from moisture exposure, replace the jar. Properly stored powder maintains full potency for 6 months after opening, 2 years unopened.

Can I use this CoQ10 refill daily and alongside other actives?

Yes. CoQ10 is well-documented as compatible with vitamin C, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, peptides, and retinol, with no known antagonistic interactions at standard topical concentrations. It can be layered with retinol if retinol is used on alternating nights. Daily use is appropriate across all skin types.

Is the refill packaging more sustainable than buying new liquid bottles?

Yes. One refill jar replaces multiple single-use liquid bottles, reducing packaging waste. The anhydrous powder format also means no water weight — you pay for concentrated active ingredient, not filler. Reusing the existing dispenser eliminates additional hardware waste each cycle.
